New General Manager for Bowls Canterbury

The Bowls Canterbury Board is happy to announce the appointment of a new General Manager for Bowls Canterbury.

After completing a balanced and transparent process, the successful applicant was Michael Coggan. Michael brings with him a wealth of experience in leading regional sports organisations over the last 26 years. These include football, basketball, squash, and most recently cricket, where he has been the Chief Executive Officer at Otago Cricket for the last ten years. We believe him to be one of the most qualified candidates in sport in New Zealand presently and are looking forward (like Mike) to the fresh challenges ahead. Mike starts with us on 9^th November.

Mikes appointment becomes available through the retirement of our current General Manager Lorraine McLeod. Lorraine formally finishes her seven year or so position with us on Friday 30^th October. We want to acknowledge the great job she has done during her term, and formally thank her by way of a function on Thursday 29^th October at 5pm at Bowls Papanui on Condell Avenue. Come along, have a drink on us, and take the time to tell Lorraine how well she did in what can often be a lonely and challenging role. We wish her all the best for her retirement and trust we will continue to see her on the greens for years to come.
